Xtime powers the North American automotive industry. They help thousands of car dealers and manufacturers retain customers. Through their cloud-based CRM and scheduling solution. Companies like Toyota, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz rely on them, because their CRM integrates all customer service touchpoints. Delivering the ultimate automotive customer experience. But Xtime wanted to make it even better. So they engaged Cogniance to develop a robust Dealer Management System (DMS) integration platform—enabling their CRM to deliver real-time data synchronization. And more. So Cogniance got in gear, designed it, and drove it to the finish line.
The fast lane to a DMS integration platform
Xtime’s CRM system provides a superior retail experience by catering to service marketing, scheduling, and check-in (for consumers and staff). Cogniance was brought on to create a highly scalable DMS integration platform. It needed to enable Xtime’s CRM customization for their growing customer base. Some big challenges Cogniance faced were ensuring that data was synched with external data providers (in real time), and developing a universal solution to make future integrations fast and easy. The end goal: top performance, scalability, and integration with multiple external data providers.
Integrated digital solutions for the automotive retail industry
The scope of Cogniance’s involvement was wide—complex software architecture, development, project management, and QA. Migration of integrations with existing dealers. Implementation of a DMS agents process for adapting the Xtime system API (and various file formats). And the proposal of a fault-tolerant architectural solution for speedy integration with new DMS agents. Our re-architecture of the existing platform dramatically increased scalability. The finished back-end solution powerfully enables data synch for Xtime’s service scheduling software, in real time. And for leading DMS providers (ADP, AutoMate, DealerBuilt, Dealertrack, SERTI), the new platform fully supports certified communications.

A partnership’s roadmap for success
The two-year partnership between Cogniance and Xtime sparked great results. The Cogniance-designed platform boosted car dealers’ and OEMs’ revenue and profitability. When delivered, it handled real-time data synch and reconciliation for 80% of U.S. car dealerships through Xtime's business portal. And for customers? Improved satisfaction across the (dash)board: trust, value, and convenience. And happy customers are repeat customers.
