Today, they’re on the cusp of a worldwide expansion (opening 1,000 stores over the next decade). But they’re a relative newcomer to the global beauty industry. So they turned to Cogniance to help them come up with a smart strategy. How could they build a world-class brand, while maintaining their valued heritage as a customer-centric business? A well-established local brand enters the global beauty industry

Atelier Rebul is a multi-channel retailer. Since 1895, their pharmacists have developed 1.5 million hand-crafted formulations for medical and cosmetic use. They’re a niche market provider, known for personalized artisan cosmetics—not mass market productions. But now they want to bring their tradition of quality, craftsmanship, and innovation to customers worldwide. As they boldly grow, they aspire to build a world-class experience for their customers. Atelier Rebul came to Cogniance for expertise spanning the entire human-centered process: from strategy, to concept, to technical execution. Cogniance’s field research offered key insights about users, industry trends, and the competitive landscape. The ideation phase delivered a wealth of ideas, from which Atelier Rebul prioritized touchpoints. Vision-specific terminology and key design principles helped keep the research insights alive throughout the process. The latest hardware (such as skin-sensing technology) and cutting-edge software (learning algorithms) were assessed for desirability. Flows and wireframes defined how complex service interactions can happen with minimal friction. And detailed visualizations and graphic designs illustrated how the vision will look once it’s put into action. Every service touchpoint must be delightful, compelling, and holistically connected.
