It was founded in November 2010.

Popover company is the first cross-platform, language agnostic, and multi-player social gaming company. We are making some of the most amazing international games available to date, using the highest performance and scalable architecture imaginable. Our games span across the globe’s most played card games, casual games, board games, heritage games, resource games, dress-up games, and others. All of our intellectual property (game content) is original, localized for end-users, and of the highest quality code, front end implementation, and design. Our passion is to produce beautiful games, with a flawless user experience at every level.

We are looking for a Senior Flash Developer to join our Kiev Team who will be a part of the Facebook and Google+ development efforts. You will work directly with our Lead Flash Engineer and executive teams in Kiev, Ukraine and San Francisco, California. Unlike most companies in Kiev, we have one team that works together across borders, not a main team and an “outsourced team.”

Our company is well-funded and brings a unique Silicon Valley approach to managing our team in both California, Kiev, and other cities. Everyone who works for Popover, is viewed by our management and specifically our CEO as a critical member of ONE team. Thus, in addition to the salary, benefits, and bonus you will receive through our local staffing/administrative partner Cogniance, you will also receive equity options, so that you can participate in the success of Popover in the event of a successful exit. Depending on our valuation, your equity compensation could potentially net you more than your salary for the entire duration of your employment. We are only offering equity participation to select employees. This position is eligible.

Skills:

3+ years of experience with ActionScript
Deep OOP knowledge and experience
Understanding of Flash rendering, programmatical drawing, creation of custom components
Experience in client-server Flash applications
Understanding of Flash remoting is an advantage
Experience in creation of Flash multiplayer games is a great advantage

Educational requirements

MS/BS degree in Computing Sciences or equivalent is preferred. Credit will be given for candidates who do not have relevant degrees but can demonstrate equivalent work experience.

Liabilities

In the course of the fulfillment of his obligations, the Flash Engineer must comply with corporate ethics and policies (e.g. accountability for all property entrusted by Cogniance).The Flash Engineer shall also bear non property responsibility for his obligations to be performed in due time and quality.

Rights

In addition to the rights assigned to a person in accordance with legislation in force, the Flash Engineer will have access to Cogniance confidential information according to company security policy and respective documents

Location and Communication

The position is located in Cogniance development office in Kyiv, Ukraine. Successful candidates will be engaged in core development activities closely cooperating in a team with software architects, designers and engineers. The Flash Engineer will report to Engineering Manager.
