    Netpulse came to Cogniance to assist them in building the Netpulse One platform — a best-of-breed fitness application that would enable fitness clubs, trainers and active-lifestyle consumers to efficiently collect fitness data for both analysis and future access. Netpulse knew that Cogniance not only offered a multidisciplinary team across all the expertise required but also had the passion needed to bring this concept into fruition. Additionally, the Cogniance team jumped at the opportunity to play a part in building innovative technology that they knew would allow them to directly benefit people’s lives.

    The Netpulse-Cogniance partnership started at the very beginning with the elaboration phase, where we held an extensive session to discover the needs of our customer and subsequently carry out the information architecture and design. Understanding their business goals allowed us to plan and effectively execute the engineering phase of the project — J2EE backend, AngularJS rich web application, ObjectiveC and Java native mobile apps for iOS and Android respectively. The platform was built to collect information via native integration with the C++/QT and Android based consoles on cardio equipment, as well as with 3rd party integrations with devices and apps like Fitbit and Runkeeper. We also provided QA, Product management and Project management services to ensure an on-time, on-budget and on-spec delivery.

    The completed Netpulse One platform is a comprehensive digital solution that provides users with an interactive, immersive on-the-go club-branded experience. We capture the data from all of the clubs’ cardio equipment and interface with third-party apps and tracking devices to seamlessly integrate them into the club’s ecosystem. Netpulse One keeps each club at the center of their users’ fitness experience with tools like goal setting, workout tracking and fitness challenges that drive club engagement and support their users’ dynamic lifestyles. Participating clubs are provided with a club-branded website, a club-branded mobile app, digital signage and a single user ID that works across all of the clubs’ cardio equipment. Together, Cogniance and Netpulse have created the Netpulse One platform that truly represents a synergy between technology and the active lifestyle.

    Alcohoot is redefining what our mobile devices can do and has developed the world's first smartphone breathalyzer device. According to Alcohoot Chief Product Officer, Jonathan Ofir, their device aims to address a serious gap in the market by promoting smart drinking with an appealing solution that seamlessly integrates with users' highly mobile social lifestyles. The two main goals of their Alcohoot device are: reduce the number of drunk driving accidents in the world and make breathalyzers an instrument that is socially acceptable to use in everyday situations.

    Alcohoot approached Cogniance to utilize our expertise with embedded technology to connect their breathalyzer device with smartphones. Specifically, Cogniance was responsible for developing a complementary mobile application that would act as an essential bridge between the hardware device and users' highly mobile lifestyles. As clearly stated by Jonathan, 'It was important for us to create a product that enhanced the user's drinking experience.'

    The Cogniance team was excited to play a role in realizing this innovative idea and we provided our skills and expertise in the following areas: project management, software engineering and QA. In order to develop a mobile app that would connect to this hardware device we had to overcome the challenge of decoding and encoding algorithms that would both transmit and accept binary data from mobile device headphone output and input. In addition, we provided integration with third-party Google Maps and Google places API to allow for easy navigation to nearby restaurants and access to UBER taxi services.

    The completed Alcohoot mobile application has gained top ratings on both App stores and recognition from top publications including Forbes, The New York Times and TechCrunch. Users are able to track and find trends in their drinking consumption patterns, call a taxi with one touch and easily locate open restaurants within walking distance.

The completed Client Portal allows brand owners and users to setup and manage their projects easily on their own via each project’s personal dashboard. The portal additionally acts as a seamless collaboration tool for Tongal’s admin team and users, and for the project management team and their project's statistic page.

    Tongal came to Cogniance to help them create a Client Portal that would enable their users and brand owners to setup and manage their contests independently. Additionally, they wanted to automate the previously manual process of creating campaigns.

    In order to implement the new Client Portal, the Cogniance team worked with Tongal through several stages, starting with Elaboration, where we reviewed the current website UI and outlined the project scope. After this, we provide UX design, development, QA and product and project management services.

    Beanstock Media is the world’s first premium Publisher Trading Desk. Together we created the Helix™ platform — a cloud based yield management system that uniquely exposes each ad impression to all available demand sources at once. Buyers have complete access to inventory and sellers get maximum value for each impression.

    Beanstock Media partnered with Cogniance to help them develop a web UI for their Helix console that would allow ad publishers to easily configure specific ads for their sites. We also helped enable the platform to provide ad event capture with near-real-time data aggregation, analysis and reporting.

    In order to implement the web UI, Cogniance was responsible for integrating with 3rd party ad exchanges, as well as defining categories and demography. To implement the data aggregation features, we needed to address the need for flexible scaling to allow for the substantial volumes of incoming data, and the required computation optimizations for the huge number of dimensions of data to be aggregated.

    Xtime's CRM system provides the positive service retail experience that consumers expect by integrating all the customer service touch points into a single exceptional user experience. Their unified system caters to service marketing, service scheduling and service check-in for both consumers and service personnel.

    Xtime engaged with Cogniance because they wanted to develop a Dealer Management System (DMS) integration platform to enable their CRM solution to be adopted and customized for their expansive customer base. The main challenge of this engagement was to ensure real-time data synchronization with various external data providers, as well as the development of a universal solution to ease and speed up future integration efforts.

    Cogniance provided Xtime with services in software architecture, development, QA and project management. Our teams were responsible for supporting the integrations for existing dealers, implementing a process for DMS agents to adapt the Xtime system API and proposing a scalable, fault tolerant back-end architectural solution for rapid integration with new DMS agents.

    The finished Xtime DMS integration platform is a back-end solution that enables real-time data synchronization for Xtime's online scheduling product suite. The platform supports certified communication for some of the leading DMS providers including ADP, AutoMate, DealerBuilt, DealerTrack, Pentana, R&R and Serti, and has many more integrations coming soon.

    Magellan brought Cogniance on board to assist in the development of their new SmartGPS. Specifically, Cogniance was involved in the development of the Magellan Cloud Services, which have performed flawlessly since launch.

    The resulting SmartGPS is a game-changing navigation solution consisting of a slick GPS device, cloud services that are fronted by a web portal, and companion smartphone apps. Together these let users seamlessly share and wirelessly sync addresses, route plans and favorite places between their devices. SmartGPS not only delivers real-time navigation data such as traffic, weather, camera locations and fuel prices, but also lets users take advantage of social content, like Yelp deals and Foursquare reviews. The Magellan SmartGPS has proved so engaging that it won an Innovation Award at CES 2013.

    Cogniance contributed to the project with our front-end and back-end development services, DevOps, QA and Project Management. We were responsible for creating a solid HTML5 solution that would render consistently across all modern platforms and browser versions, maintaining and updating legacy code and cooperating efficiently with other distributed teams. The architectural expertise of Cogniance team made it possible to drive through the database migration of the live application and evolve the system infrastructure.

    Project

    Our client is launching a new health and fitness platform that will become the health and fitness center of the user’s life, similar to the strategy of HealthKit or Google Fit. The platform will aggregate all of the member’s fitness and health related data, and then attempt to offer engaging experiences, such as coaching tools to drive behavior change. Our role in this project is to assist in three major areas:

    1) Help aggregate the data from fitness equipment in health clubs;

    2) Help aggregate the data from 3rd party apps/devices;

    3) Help engage members on cardio console screens with the club media package (ads on consoles).

    We are looking for a Java developer who will help us achieve these goals.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    As a Java Engineer, you’ll help us design and build a comprehensive set of web service APIs for integration with wearable healthcare devices, gym equipment, fitness chains and mobile apps.     • Identify specific sales opportunities within existing and prospective clients. Work with client and Cogniance teams to determine requirements and specifications, build client value proposition, and shape and close the deal
    • Manage and develop client relationships. Work closely with project managers to ensure service delivery is satisfactory, explore new business opportunities within the account, and maintain project profitability targets

    Skills & Experience

    • 8+ years of sales/business development experience, preferably with some technology/consulting services experience (selling or delivering)
    • Significant portion of career spent working in/with automotive industry
    • Experience with software platforms and technologies (web, mobile, cloud, embedded), and an early adopter mindset with passion for latest technology trends, apps, gadgets, and companies
    • Exposure to the technology startup and corporate innovation ecosystems, either through direct employment, client relationships, or personal network
    • Demonstrated capability to manage all phases of sales process, from lead generation to closing deals to developing client relationships
    • Proven ability to close deals and meet quota objectives — we expect you to provide details of quota achievements
    • Consultative approach to selling, through disarming attitude, empathetic mindset, and value-adding solutions
    • Balance of self-starter mentality and ability to adhere to sales processes
    • Ability to structure and negotiate deals that meets all parties’ needs

    Compensation:

    • $150-250K OTE (uncapped), based on experience and track record. Competitive base salary + commissions based on sales quota achievement

    Requirements:

    • Master in Business Administration required.
